Disability-informed reinvention

You're not broken. You're unfinished.

When disability, illness, or a health disruption rewrites who you are, the hard part is not only what you can do. It is who you are now. Reinvention Works gives people, and the organizations that support them, a practical structure for that rebuild.

Emotion opens the door. Structure shows the way forward. Built on the lived experience and professional perspective of founder Shay Edmonds, Reinvention Works serves individuals and the organizations that support them.
Two doors, one method

Whether you are rebuilding, or supporting someone who is.

For individuals

Rebuild who you are after life-altering change.

Peer-led programs for adults navigating identity change after disability, illness, or a health disruption. Start free, go at your own pace, and keep going when you are ready.

For organizations

Give the people you serve the identity layer that is usually missing.

Healthcare providers, vocational rehabilitation and independent living teams, and workplace leaders use Reinvention Works to add capacity-aware identity support beside the care and services already in place.

The Reinvention Reset™ System

One path, four steps.

Every program in the system builds on the one before it, so nobody has to start from scratch or commit before they are ready.

The founder

A company built on one person's rebuild.

Shay Edmonds was a 911 emergency communications engineer building systems that kept people safe at their worst moments. Then Anti-MOG, a rare autoimmune disease, attacked his optic nerves and took his sight, his career, and, for a while, his sense of who he was.

Traditional therapy told him to accept a new normal. Motivational speakers told him to overcome. What he needed were practical tools that worked with his actual capacity, and a community that did not demand performance. When he could not find them, he built them. That work became Reinvention Works.

For organizations and partners

Care handles the crisis. Who helps with what comes next?

The clinical work is done and the services are winding down, yet the person is standing in the invisible middle: medically stable, and quietly lost about what comes next. Reinvention Works is a structured, peer-led next step that sits beside your care and services, never instead of them.

What participants share

Practical work. A way forward.

“I did everything I was supposed to do. The right doctors. The right medications. The right support groups. On paper, I was doing it ‘the right way.’

But somewhere along the line, I felt myself fading—not because of the illness, but because I couldn't recognize who I was anymore. The version of me that existed before everything changed felt further away every month, and nobody could explain that part.

There wasn't a diagnosis for losing yourself while technically doing okay.

Working with Shay was the first time someone didn't try to fix me or manage me. I didn't walk away ‘fixed.’ I walked away with a way to understand what I was carrying, and a clear way to move forward from where I actually am instead of constantly chasing who I used to be.

If you're sitting there wondering whether you're ready for this kind of work, I wasn't ready either. I was just tired of waiting for life to magically feel normal again.”

“When I first started working with Shay, I felt like I was carrying everyone else's problems while trying to manage my own health challenges. I had reached a point where I didn't know how to take care of myself without feeling guilty. During our work together, I realized that setting boundaries wasn't about pushing people away—it was about creating enough space to take care of my own well-being. One of the first things I did was establish a healthier boundary with a family member, and that single decision changed how I handled situations that had been overwhelming me for years. My circumstances didn't magically disappear, but I finally stopped feeling like they controlled every part of my life. I left with more confidence, more peace, and a better understanding of what I could and couldn't control. If you're looking for someone who will help you move forward with honesty, compassion, and practical guidance, I highly recommend working with Shay.”

“I wasn't looking for motivation—I was looking for a way to stop feeling stuck. My health challenges had slowly convinced me that life was becoming smaller, and I had gotten comfortable putting off the changes I knew I needed to make. Shay challenged me to stop waiting until everything felt perfect before taking action. The biggest shift for me wasn't some dramatic breakthrough; it was deciding to take one meaningful step instead of staying on the sidelines. That one action gave me momentum, and momentum changed the way I looked at my future. What I appreciated most was that there were no unrealistic promises or pressure—just thoughtful conversations, practical guidance, and someone who genuinely believed I was capable of moving forward. Today I make decisions with far more confidence than I did before we started working together.”

“After my health challenges, I found myself second-guessing almost every important decision. I wasn't looking for someone to tell me what to do—I needed a way to trust myself again. Shay helped me slow the process down and focus on making one thoughtful decision at a time instead of feeling overwhelmed by everything at once. One important decision I had been avoiding finally became clear, and taking that step gave me the confidence to keep moving forward. I appreciated that Shay never tried to 'fix' me or make unrealistic promises. Instead, he helped me recognize that progress comes from consistently making the next right decision. Looking back, the biggest change wasn't that my life suddenly became easier—it was that I finally believed I had a direction and the ability to keep building on it.”

Your reality is the foundation, not the obstacle.

To support adults navigating identity collapse after disability and health disruption, with honest, practical tools that honor their reality and rebuild what actually matters.
